Community Lab Launch at Manchester Central Library

We’ve teamed up with The Reading Agency and Universal Music UK to continue our initiative placing digital pianos into libraries across the country, bringing music into the heart of local communities.

On the 26th of February we launched the lab at Manchester Central Library with an incredible afternoon of live music. The afternoon saw amazing performances from UMG artist Victor Ray and LLIMF Young Scholar Julian Zhu, hosted by the brilliant Abby Cook. The launch supports this year’s Summer Reading Challenge, ‘Read to the Beat!’, inspiring young people to discover the joy of books and music together.

And we’re just getting started…Community Labs will be launching in the coming months across:
Rhondda Cynon Taf (Wales), East Lothian (Scotland), Hartlepool (North East England) & Stoke-on-Trent (Midlands). Together, we’re making music more accessible – one library at a time.
