Dear young musician,
Thank you for your interest in the Young Scholars Program. Music is a lifelong journey of curiosity, discipline, imagination, courage, and joy. I hope you approach this application with honesty, passion, and an open mind, and that you allow us to discover not only how you play, but also who you are as a young artist.
The Young Scholars Program is about much more than individual achievement. It is about learning from extraordinary teachers, listening to one another, sharing ideas, supporting your peers, and growing through experiences that can stay with you for a lifetime.

A Message from the CEO
Every three years, the Lang Lang International Music Foundation selects a new class of exceptional young pianists from around the world. Selection is highly competitive and marks the beginning of a three-year artistic and educational journey.
Being selected as a Young Scholar is a tremendous honor. It is also a serious commitment. The Foundation invests significant time, resources, care, and international partnerships into each class. In return, we ask every Young Scholar and every family to make the same commitment back to the program.
Our academies, masterclasses, performances, educational activities, and community experiences are designed as one connected journey. They are not optional extras. Full, active participation is central to what it means to be a Young Scholar.
Our goal is not only to support outstanding young pianists, but also to nurture thoughtful, prepared, respectful young artists who understand that talent and responsibility go hand in hand.
